So after much thinking and discussion with various friends, family and colleagues heres what people seem to like and dislike about Googles browser CHROME.
Negatives:-
- No-Addons
- Support structure and EULA = dodgy*
- No drop-down history
- No central mouse control (scroll) feature
- No built in RSS support
- Can’t change theme colour
- Hard to find history, and more so bookmarks
Positives:-
- Very Very fast
- Overall sleek look and design (inc. logo)
- Built in (geeky) task manager
- Ability to move tabs to order
- Ability to pull out tabs to new window
- Incognito mode
- “real” Dangerous Page (inc dead SSL) warnings
- TLD darker font
- Geek Stuff: source, js debug, js console
- In page search
- Search google from addressbar
- No waste of vertical space
Overall CHROME is an amazing browser, at least as far as i am concerned. And many others it seems. There are a few draw backs, but to be honest i do not give a damn about them, CHROME is a BETA its 0.2.something and it was realease 3 months before it should have been! I love CHROME infact i would go further and say it will become (quite soon) the primary internet browser…. probably for most of the world once it gets addons….though i question the need for these.
*speaking about the original “your content is ours if its written in our browser” thing.
