SEO Tip 1: Make your website easy to find and process by search engines
SEO Tip 2: Build the website for your users and not search engines, it is humans you want to convert
SEO Tip 3: Research your market and keywords carefully, what are users going to search for exactly, then use those keyphrases!
SEO Tip 4: Build high quality links, these are links from sites with good relevant content (not just any forum or blog)
SEO Tip 5: grab a domain with a keyword in it, it may not help directly with search engines but it can make a brand memorable
SEO Tip 6: Do-not-create-a-domain < like that … use a single word no hyphens etc
SEO Tip 7: If you are targeting a specific country use a localised domain eg .co.uk not the .com (have that forward to the specific one)
SEO Tip 8: Create create content for your website, write it to entice people to share your content!
SEO Tip 9: Don’t use variables in your domain eg .com/?p=123 it confuses users and many search engines
SEO Tip 10: Create your website using clean code, and code to the latest standards
SEO Tip 11: Don’t bury things in sub-folders, 2 or 3 layers max
SEO Tip 12: Create and use a sitemap, don’t forget to submit it too!
SEO Tip 13: Create and use a robots.txt file, it tells search engines where not to go
SEO Tip 14: Avoid using frames within a website at all costs
SEO Tip 15: Don’t use flash for navigation or holding content, use it only for animation / videos
SEO Tip 16: Minimise the use of javascript if you can
SEO Tip 17: Set up and use @Google Analytics, then use it for keyword research
SEO Tip 18: Check the keywords your competition use, then change it for your needs (do not just copy)
SEO Tip 19: Remember misspellings of keywords can be just as valuable as correctly spelt words

SEO Tip 40: Aim to never allow a 404 to appear, if it does make sure it is tracked and you 301 that url
SEO Tip 41: Sign up for and use @Google webmaster tools, its free and invaluable
SEO Tip 42: If you don’t like asking for links directly, write some guest articles for websites (these normally include a link back)
